Sue Westering, daughter of legendary football coach Frosty Westering and sister of Scott Westering, carved her own path in the world of football, becoming a pioneer in the sport and an inspiration to aspiring female coaches.

Growing up in the Westering family, Sue was immersed in the world of football from an early age. Surrounded by the Westering football legacy, Sue developed a deep passion for the sport. She played volleyball in high school and college, yet a deep calling lay in coaching. Inspired by her father's coaching philosophy, Sue coached volleyball at Gig Harbor High School and later pursued coaching football at Pacific Lutheran University.

Sue Westering made history by becoming the first female assistant football coach at Pacific Lutheran University. Her appointment was a groundbreaking moment, paving the way for more women to enter the coaching profession. At PLU, Sue worked alongside her brother Scott, coaching the defensive backs, special teams, and "The Bombers".
