Craig McCord recorded 31 years serving on the Pacific Lutheran football coaching staff. Beginning in 2010, McCord made the change from assistant head coach back to his role as defensive coordinator, a position he held from 1996-2004. 


He served as the Lutes Defensive Coordinator from 1996-2004 and returned to that role from 2010-2017. For 5 seasons from 2005-2009, he served as the Assistant Head Coach/Quarterback Coach & Special Teams Coordinator for Scott Westering.


Prior to becoming defensive coordinator, Craig was a defensive assistant coach from 1988-95 under then defensive coordinator Paul Hoseth. Craig served as an assistant to Hall of Fame coach Frosty Westering for 17 years.

Prior to graduating from PLU in 1983, Craig served as an undergraduate assistant in 1981. Craig went on to earn his master's degree from the University of Washington (1988) and while at the UW was a graduate assistant for Hall of Fame coach Don James for three seasons.
