Jud Keim joined the Pacific Lutheran University football coaching staff prior to the 2004 season and became the assistant head coach in 2010. He was named interim Head Coach on November 15, 2017 till the hiring of Brant McAdams in February 2018.  He serves as the defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach, and recruiting coordinator for the team. He previously served as the team's special teams coordinator. 

His coaching background includes four seasons as the defensive coordinator at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., four seasons at California Lutheran University, including three years as the defensive coordinator, and two years as a graduate assistant at Mankato State (Minnesota). He also was an assistant coach for one season at Kamiak H.S. in Mukilteo, Wash.

As a PLU student-athlete, Jud was a four-year letter winner in football and track & field for the Lutes. He was a two-time all-conference running back in football. He earned his bachelor's degree from PLU in 1986 and a master's degree in Athletic Administration from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 1999.
